LONDON (Reuters) – Britain sanctioned five senior Georgian officials over the state response to protests that took place in Georgia following the announcement of the suspension of EU accession talks, an official government notice showed on Thursday.
The sanctions targeted senior figures in Georgia’s interior ministry, which oversaw the police’s disproportionate use of violence against protestors, the British government said in the notice.
